I started with a site I made out of personal interest. It was online several years before Adsense existed, and since joining adsense hasn't changed. I had no programming skills, but learned just enough to get by in basic html. My site is #3 on google with the main keywords. The income is way out of proportion to what I expected. I started adsense to hopefully pay the hosting costs of the site over a year. I make that in a couple of days now, so there you go. Time and patience has it's rewards...

A friend/client put me in charge of ad sales on his site, because he's good at generating the content but he's not good at sales -- or billing. So he gave me all the contacts and said, "Here's the list of current advertisers, and here's the waiting list." And I went, "Waiting list?!" That told me something immediately: The price was too low. Don't over use and don't under-use indexing. Indexing is used for common searches. This includes searches performed by user, or by a program, to link records together. If it is necessary to find customer information quickly, index the fields. This allows quick retrieval of the information. Know the types of information requiring fast retrieval. why on Earth should I presume you're someone trustworthy that will actually pay me? GRML (Blog Title) GRML (Blog Date) GRML (Blog Size) GRML (Blog Company) For a super-affiliate who knows he can throw 10,000 people a day onto your site, perhaps he can accurately predict conversions and tell if something is wrong. I would think that the whole "interest" thing would apply just to large content sites or for creating your own product like a How To Book or other info. A lot of affiliates do not build large content sites on the niches they promote, so it would not matter if they were interested in it or not. Even if you do find something you are interested in, all the site building and promoting is still tedious anyways and will take most of the time. Nothing wrong with going with a topic that interests you...

There is alot of ways to make money on the web and with webpages in general. -Rotating advertisement banner/link spots via scripts throughout your site and charge services/companies a flat fee based on the amount of traffic you get and what the basic genre of the site is. -A "free" section where possibly users could download games, programs, images, get free offers for trials to programs, free physical goods etc. There is plenty of great affiliate programs to support these ideas out t...

All of the advertisers on my own site are gained through the "Advertise with us" link, as well as recommendations to others from previous advertisers. I do it all myself, and I rarely have unsold ad space. I have had quite a few large companies place ads with me as well, but I have never solicted them myself. Judging from my keyword referrals, there are many people searching for sites to place ads in my market. So never underestimate the value of an "advertise with us" page. When I see ...

Sure, in the past, local sales personnel were needed to overcome distance and time from the manufacturing facility. With the Internet, there seems to be less need of them because of this. However, I think the growth of online communities will provide the new reason for the existence of independent sales agents on the Internet. (The people who run these communities will be one new type of sales agent). When you think about it, a really good online community can virtually own the attention of...

You have a couple of things to consider here: 1) Increasing number of visitors means increased number of potential customers 2) Perhaps more importantly is to make sure you lever each visitor as much as possible. For example if you have 2000 uv per day and they never buy anything, then increasing traffic to 4000 uv per day might not help much. It is worth making sure you get (2) right first, that way you have a fair idea of how you can increase revenue by increasing traffic. A...
